Sponsored by Google, they award over $1 million in prizes to Inclusive Innovators: organizations around the world that are using technology to solve a grand challenge of our time, to create shared prosperity by reinventing the future of work.
As MIT’s flagship prize on Financial Inclusion, the Zambezi Prize awards $200K to Africa’s most inclusive and innovative early-stage companies. The Prize is sponsored by the MasterCard Foundation and implemented by the MIT Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneurship.
Powered by the MIT Legatum Center for Development and Entrepreneruship, the Bolaji Finnih Award celebrates Africa’s top leaders for their work on building up the African entrepreneurship ecosystem. The Prize is established under the memory of the late Bolaji Finnih, the Lagos Champion for the MIT Regional Entrepreneurship Acceleration Program and a MIT Legatum Fellow.

Started in July 2016, the MIT Disobedience Award is a $250K cash prize award for responsible disobedience. This idea came after a realization that there’s a widespread frustration from people trying to figure out how can we effectively harness responsible, ethical disobedience aimed at challenging our norms, rules, or laws to benefit society.
